The Millhouse is a beautiful converted 19th-century mill, set over four storeys and sleeps up to 16 people, across 7 charming bedrooms.
The stunning 48ft kitchen dining space seats large groups and is very spacious with its own snug and wood burning stove. The ground floor reception room is full of rustic charm, including the old mill machinery. We are a perfect place for family and friends gathering however we do not host parties. Selgars Mill is part of a quiet community and has neighbours and other guests staying in accommodation.
Until the 1980s, the mill house was a working flour mill and many of its original features have been preserved. On the ground floor you will find the original workings of the mill wheel, a large wood-burning stove, and even a piano. The whole first floor is one huge space perfect for big families and groups of friends and spills out onto a south facing balcony. The 13 beds are arranged across seven rooms over the top two floors and can sleep up to 16 people maximum. The house is warmed with biomass fired central heating, and by the wood burning stoves. The hot water is heated by solar panels on the roof. Care and attention has been taken to source everything we can from local, ethical and ecological suppliers. From every window you will see gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and as the house faces due south it is often flooded with light.

Mill Lodge is a spacious and light mill cottage which sleeps 4 people comfortably in two bedrooms, perfect for a small family getaway. The upside down layout of the cottage makes the most of the views and the large kitchen/lounge area is light and airy making it perfect for socialising.
The stone steps to the cottage lead to an impressive large open plan kitchen, dining and living area which is very light and spacious with beautiful exposed beams. The lounge area has a cosy feel with corner sofa, TV and a wood burning stove. A wooden staircase takes you downstairs to the two large bedrooms. Herringbone brick floor gives an authentic feel to the bedrooms but with the extra benefit of underfloor heating with individual thermostats in each room. Bedroom one has a queen sized bed with twin beds in the second bedroom. The bathroom is tastefully decorated and has a new white bathroom suite including a bath and shower.
You’ll have shared access to the full 8 acre site: a woodland fire pit, millpond with a rowing boat and surrounding waterways, permaculture gardens, and beautiful meadows. There’s lots of room to explore, play games and enjoy the incredible diversity of wildlife we have on site.

Our Ethical Policies
We are a not-for-profit worker co-operative, with any surplus reinvested in our educational programmes.
Our fully vegetarian site is zero to landfill, using as many refillable products as possible. We grow food for residential staff and cut flowers for the business in the Edible Classroom, our on-site permaculture garden, using no-dig, chemical-free methods.
Electricity is generated on-site with rooftop photovoltaics or comes from renewable sources. Heating is provided with a biomass boiler.
Our procurement is strictly local, ecological, and from other co-operatives wherever possible. We bank with the Co-operative Bank and use the Phone Co-op for our telecoms.
There is level access to the Event Barn, Assembly Rooms on the ground floor of the mill (where there is an accessible toilet) and most outside spaces. There is currently stepped access only to the Training Space and accommodation in the mill.
If you have any accessibility needs, get in touch with us and we will do all we can to make this an accessible venue.
